Vela and Tui and the Lighthouse

Story Preview

The Skyway is a path of silver dust that hums when stars walk home. Each step lights a soft glow that fades when sleep comes.

Vela was a tiny star, new to the sky. Her light was small but bright, like a firefly in a vast night. She floated along the Skyway, her silver dust swirling beneath her. VELA: "Where is everyone going?" The Skyway stretched ahead, empty except for a faint hum. Vela tilted her head. The hum sounded lonely. VELA: "Maybe I should follow the sound." She drifted forward, her light flickering. The hum grew louder, then softer, like a breath.

A small shape fluttered near her feet. It was Tui, an old moth with wings like moonlit lace. TUI: "You’re new here, little one." VELA: "Yes! I just arrived. Where is everyone?" TUI: "They’ve gone home. The Skyway dims when all are safely there." VELA: "Not all the way yet, though."
