[GENTLE] The first thing Aarav noticed was the silence.
Not the absence of sound—there was always sound beneath the waves—but the kind of silence that happens when everything else fades away and you’re left with just one thing. In this case, it was the faintest hum, like a tuning fork vibrating inside his chest, just below hearing.
[CURIOUS] He adjusted his dive mask, the rubber seal pressing lightly against his temples, and kicked gently with his flippers. The water here was warmer than it should have been, even this deep. Not hot, not cold—just *alive*, like the ocean had exhaled and forgotten to inhale again. His wetsuit, usually stiff and restrictive, felt loose now, as if the water itself was holding him up.
