The sky is made of soft blue glass. Inside, tiny lights hum like fireflies. You are one of them, Tuli.
Tuli was a small lantern, just born. Her glass was warm, her light was gold. She didn’t know she could think. But tonight, she did.
The sky was wide and quiet. Tuli floated, bumping into stars. They glowed brighter when she touched them. Rani was there, a bigger lantern. Her light was steady, her voice soft. RANI: "You’re new, little one." TULI: "I don’t know where to go." RANI: "Follow the hum. It knows the way."
