Story Preview
The Hall of Whispers holds the quietest things in the universe. Its walls hum with old songs no one remembers. You can hear the stars blinking inside.
Tizzy’s tiny feet made soft pfft sounds on the silver floor. The air smelled like warm milk and distant thunder. Orv the ancient tortoise waited by the first exhibit, his shell glowing faintly blue. ORV: "Welcome, little glow. Do you see the stillness here?" TIZZY: "I see lights! They’re floating like fireflies!" ORV: "Those are the last sighs of the day. Watch."
The lights trembled. One drifted toward Tizzy’s outstretched hand. It paused, then settled on her palm like a sleeping moth.
