Above the clouds, where the sky is stitched with silver thread, there is a factory that makes sleep. Not just any factory—this is the Slumber Loom, where dreams are woven from moonlight and quiet. Tonight, the machines hum softly, waiting for something to arrive.
Tetsu’s metal fingers curled around the railing of the sky bridge. Below him, the Slumber Loom stretched like a city of gentle giants. Each tower spun clouds into pillows, each vat stirred starlight into syrup. But tonight, the usual hum was missing. The air felt too light, like a breath held too long.
TETSU: "Obaa? The machines are too quiet." OBAA: "They are waiting, little bolt." TETSU: "Waiting for what?" OBAA: "For what is coming."
