Close your eyes and imagine a sky where clouds are not made of water, but of softest wool. They drift low enough to brush the tops of your fingers, and when everything is quiet, they glow like embers in a hearth. This is the Vale of Nidra, where lost dreams and sleepy travelers find their way home. The light dims only when the last wanderer is safe, and then the keeper rests. You are Tansik, an old lantern with a cracked glass belly, warm with memory. You remember every bedtime you’ve ever lit.
The path to Nidra is made of smooth river stones that hum when stepped on. You do not step, Tansik. You float, carried by a breeze that smells of cinnamon and old books. Below you, the stones hum anyway, as if they remember your weight from long ago.
VEYA: "Tansik, look." A small silver key hovers beside you. That is Veya, your companion, her voice like the chime of a teacup tapped once.
