High above the world, where the wind hums lullabies, lies the Sky Cradle. It’s a nest woven from starlight and cloud-thread, where lost dreams and sleepy travelers find their way home. The air smells like warm milk and honey, and the light dims only when every wing is safely tucked. You are Siku, a young bird who reads the wind like others read maps. Tonight, something is missing.
Siku’s wings cut through the cool evening air as she glided into the Sky Cradle. The great nest stretched wide, its edges glowing faintly with the last light of day. Below, tiny lanterns bobbed like fireflies, marking the paths home for weary travelers. But tonight, one lantern was dark. A single thread of starlight had unraveled, leaving a gap in the pattern.
SIKU: "Lumiq? Did you see which way it went?" The lantern beside her flickered. Its glass was warm, etched with swirling lines that glowed when the air was calm.
