The workshop smelled like burnt popcorn and solder. Rohan Kapoor adjusted his goggles—safety first, even when your lab was a repurposed treehouse—and tapped the activation switch on his anti-gravity boots. The LEDs flickered green… green… GREEENNN— then exploded in a shower of sparks that smelled suspiciously like his dad’s failed attempt at making chai.

"Uh-oh," Rohan muttered, watching the smoke curl toward the ceiling. He’d spent three weeks soldering those circuits, and now the left boot was beeping like a microwave with a personality crisis. But before he could unclip the power pack, the right boot gave a sudden WHIRRRR and launched him straight into the air—directly through the treehouse roof.

"Whoa—" His voice cut off as he tumbled into open sky. For one terrifying second, he was weightless, spinning like a sock in a dryer. Then gravity remembered its job and yanked him back toward Earth. He braced for impact—
