Every evening, the valley fills with soft blue light, and tiny boats made of folded paper drift down the river, carrying dreams to children who are waiting. Tonight, one of those boats is for you. It’s already on its way.
You are Marama, a child with bare feet and a heart that hums when the air smells like rain. The path to Moemoeā is invisible unless you walk slowly. If you run, it fades like mist. You stand at the edge of your bed, toes curling into the cool floor. The boat hasn’t arrived yet, but you can hear the river whispering your name.
MARAMA: "I think I hear it." TĪRAMA: TĪRAMA: "Hear what?" MARAMA: "The river. It’s calling."
