Story Preview

[GENTLE] The sun was slipping behind the hills, painting the sky in soft pinks and oranges. [CURIOUS] Lulla, a little sparrow with feathers the color of warm honey, perched on the lowest branch of the old apple tree. She tilted her head, listening. [EXCITED] There it was again—the whispering song of the wheat fields! A soft, rustling melody that only she could hear.

[ADVENTUROUS] 'Mama! Papa! The wheat is singing!' Lulla chirped, fluttering her wings. [JOYFUL] Her family was scattered across the garden—Mama was gathering seeds near the sunflowers, Papa was teaching her little brothers how to fly, and Grandma was dozing in the shade. [CURIOUS] 'It’s the most beautiful sound,' Lulla said, hopping from foot to foot. 'We have to listen together!'

[MYSTERIOUS] The wind carried the song closer, wrapping around Lulla like a cozy blanket. [EXCITED] 'Hurry!' she called to her family. 'The wheat is waiting!' [laugh] Her little brothers giggled as they tumbled through the air, their tiny wings still wobbly. [GENTLE] Mama smiled and ruffled Lulla’s feathers. 'Lead the way, little one,' she said.
