Close your eyes and imagine a sky that never sleeps. Not the dark, quiet sky you know, but the Glimmering Stage—where stars don’t just twinkle, they dance. The moon isn’t a watcher; she’s the conductor, waving her silver baton to cue the clouds, who sweep across the sky like velvet curtains. And tonight, something is wrong. The music has stopped. The stars aren’t dancing. Liora can feel it in her bones.

The air smelled like burnt sugar and rain. Liora stood at the edge of the Glimmering Stage, her bare feet pressing into the cool, silver grass. The stars above her were frozen mid-leap, their light dimmed to a dull hum. She clenched her fists LIORA: "Where’s the music?"

A soft rustle came from behind her. Tannin, the old cloud-keeper, floated just above the ground, his edges fuzzy like a half-remembered dream. His voice was warm, like honey poured over bread.
