The sky is a river of silver threads at Vaelis Hollow. Every night, travelers who have lost their way find their path home here. The light dims only when the last dreamer is safe. Each sentence here is short. The air smells like honey and starlight.

Ani perched on the lowest branch of the Whispering Elm. The wind carried secrets tonight, but one secret was missing. The great lantern at the heart of Vaelis Hollow flickered weakly, its glow uneven. Ani tilted her head. The lantern never flickered.

ANI: "Something is wrong with the light."
