One day, Silk the spider said to the moon — Shhh... listen... The moon dropped a tiny silver ball right onto Silk’s web. It went boing, boing, boing across the dew. Silk scurried after it. The ball rolled down a leaf, then up a blade of grass. It went boing, boing, boing right into a puddle. Splash! Silk giggled and shook the water off his legs. Can you guess what happened next? The moon dropped another ball. It went boing, boing, boing into a flower. Silk climbed the stem, but the ball rolled away again. This time it landed on a snail’s back. The snail didn’t even notice. Silk sighed. The moon sighed too, and the balls stopped bouncing. Between you and me... The moon’s light grew softer. Silk curled up in his web, warm and full of giggles. The last silver ball rolled to a stop beside him. It went boing... boing... then nothing. Silk closed his eyes. The moon closed its glow. The night tucked them both in.
