High above the world, where the air is thin and the stars are made fresh every night, there is a factory of dreams. Not a factory with smokestacks and machines, but a floating island of silver threads and glowing vats where sleep is spun like candyfloss. The island is called Nidra, and tonight, something new is coming. No one knows what it is, but the wind carries whispers of softness, and the clouds hum a tune that hasn’t been heard before. You are Rishi, a young swift with wings like black silk, and tonight, you will find out what it is.
Rishi darted between the silver threads that crisscrossed the sky above Nidra. The threads shimmered like spider silk, but they were warm, not sticky, and they hummed when he brushed against them. Below him, the island glowed with soft blue light, and the air smelled like honey and rain.
RISHI: "Chanda! Did you hear that?" CHANDA: "Hear what, little wing?" RISHI: "A sound. Like a bell, but far away." CHANDA: "Perhaps it is the new dream being poured."
