Mira balanced on the edge of the Dreamloom’s wooden deck. Below her, stars blinked like tiny lanterns being lit one by one. The air smelled of warm milk and honey. She had come to watch the cloud-weavers at work, but something felt different tonight. The usual hum of the loom was uneven, like a song with missing notes.
MIRA: "Did you hear that?" LUMI: "Hear what?" MIRA: "The loom. It’s stuttering."
